Teaching Your Dog the Power of Calm
Sometimes one of the hardest things for our dogs to learn is how to simply do nothing.
This 90 minute workshop is all about helping your dog discover calmness for themselves without constantly being told to sit, lie down, wait, stay, place or settle.
Instead of directing every behaviour, we’ll create opportunities for your dog to think, make choices and learn that calm behaviour is rewarding. The goal is for your dog to begin settling on their own because they understand how - not because you told them to.
And this workshop isn't just about the dogs!
We’ll sit down together with our dogs and have an open, relaxed conversation about training, behaviour and the goals you have for your dog. We'll talk about what calmness really looks like, how our own behaviour can influence our dogs and how we can encourage them to make better choices in everyday life.
Come prepared to sit, chat, learn and maybe do a whole lot of nothing!
Coffee, Tea and Water will be provided

The doorbell rings... and the chaos begins!
Does your dog lose their mind when someone knocks on the door or comes to visit? Barking, jumping, rushing the door or getting so excited they forget you're even there?
This workshop is all about helping your dog learn to handle the excitement of visitors arriving without everything turning into chaos.
We'll work on:
The goal isn't to take away your dog's excitement. It's to teach them how to manage it so welcoming visitors becomes a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
Just because something is exciting doesn't mean we have to react to it!
Does your dog jump on people, rush toward anything interesting or have a hard time controlling themselves when something exciting happens?
This workshop focuses on impulse control and helping your dog learn to pause, think and make better choices.
We'll work on:
We'll introduce exercises that encourage your dog to think before acting, giving you practical skills to continue working on at home and in everyday situations.
Just because it's there doesn't mean it's yours!
Holiday decorations, dropped food, presents, interesting smells... there's no shortage of temptation during the holidays!
Does your dog feel the need to investigate, grab, or get involved in everything around them?
This workshop is about teaching your dog that not everything needs their attention and that walking away or leaving something alone can be a much better choice.
We'll work on:
We'll gradually increase the challenges, helping your dog learn to make good choices even when something tempting is right in front of them.
Putting it all together when life gets busy!
The holidays bring people, noise, movement, excitement, and plenty of distractions. Can your dog handle it all without getting completely carried away?
In our final workshop, we'll bring together everything we've been practising over the previous three weeks and put those skills to work in more realistic situations.
We'll work on:
This workshop is about showing your dog that they can be part of the activity without needing to be involved in everything that's happening.
After all, a well-mannered dog doesn't have to be a perfectly still dog. We want dogs that can think, make good choices and enjoy being part of our family!
The series starts on Saturday, November 14, 2026
It will run for 4 consecutive weeks from 11am - 12 pm
Cost: $175.00 +hst
