The Canine Good Neighbour (CGN) offered by the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) is a recognized dog training program that assesses a dog’s everyday manners and ability to behave calmly and politely in real-world situations. This program emphasizes practical skills such as loose leash walking, polite greetings, reliable recall (on a long line), settling in new environments, and maintaining composure around distractions. Unlike competition obedience, the CGN program focuses on showcasing that your dog is a safe, well-mannered member of the community.
Test Date: Sat, Sept 26 - starting at 9am until 1pm. We will contact you with a time closer to the date.

Sometimes the difference between a dog who knows a behaviour and one who can reliably perform it comes down to the missing links in training.
This class is designed to find those gaps, strengthen them and help you take your dog’s training to the next level. We’ll focus on building stronger engagement, focus and reliability, while teaching your dog to continue working with you when distractions are present. Through targeted exercises and plenty of hands-on practice, you’ll learn how to keep your dog responsive and connected as the level of difficulty increases.
Throughout the six weeks, we’ll work on:
· Strengthening engagement and handler focus
· Increasing distractions, distance and duration
· Improving reliability with previously learned skills
· Building better impulse control and decision-making
· Fine-tuning handler timing and communication
· Identifying and strengthening gaps in your training
· Helping your dog remain focused and responsive in more challenging situations
The goal isn't simply for your dog to know the skills—it’s for you to be able to use them when and where you need them.
This class is an important stepping stone toward L3 – Real World Ready, where we take your training outdoors and put those skills to work in parks, plazas, stores and other everyday environments.
We’ll continue increasing distractions and challenges as you and your dog work toward training that is reliable where it matters most—in the real world.
